Black Lives Matter, Upper Darby Style

Anyone familiar with Upper Darby knows that it has been a diverse and immigrant-rich community for many decades. Although many have joined the protests in Philadelphia, Upper Darby also had local actions. There was a somber walking vigil in Arlington Cemetery with prayer, sharing and singing, a kneeling demonstration on busy Lansdowne Avenue, and other locations and times around the township.


69th Street is closed for the pandemic and now locked down by the National Guard to prevent looting. It’s something that would have been hard to imagine a few weeks ago.
