Upper Darby has long been an Arts community, especially the performing arts. Of course there is the world-famous Tower Theater and locally well-known Summer Stage, from whom many (can you say Tina Fey?) professional performing artists got their start. Writers and visual artists get a good foundation through the public schools and the proximity to so many great art schools in Philadelphia.
