Upper Darby “Bus Revolution” events

Hello and good afternoon,

My name is Lily Goodspeed, and I am part of SEPTA’s current Bus Revolution project, which is SEPTA’s rethinking and redesign of the Philadelphia bus system. I feel it’s crucial that we hear voices from Upper Darby community members throughout the process, especially those in communities that are not usually engaged with these kinds of city planning processes.

SEPTA has just released its Draft Network bus redesign, and wants feedback from your community. SEPTA’s draft proposals include changes to the overall network and individual bus routes. These changes intend to improve the bus network to make it easier to understand, more convenient, and more reliable for all riders.

SEPTA wants to keep the conversation going and hear feedback on these proposed changes and what input, ideas, and perspectives you have on the redesign! Here are some ways you and your community members can get involved in giving input:

  • Comments can be sent directly to SEPTA at busnetwork@septa.org or you can call SEPTA at 267-291-6045.
  • There will be Open Houses around the city so people can learn and comment in person. Here is the full list (Scroll down to “Open Houses”)but I would recommend our Upper Darby Open House on Saturday, 11/12 at  Upper Darby Free Library Municipal Branch (501 Bywood Avenue). The Open Houses will feature information boards displaying key features of the proposals, focusing on potential impacts of these changes on Upper Darby. Our fall fest-themed Open Houses will also feature local resource tables, fun activities for all ages, and local entertainment and food. A flyer is attached.
  • There will also be Virtual Community Conversations (Scroll down to “Community Conversations”) in case it’s easier for people to attend and give input virtually. The Delaware County Community Conversation will be held Monday, 10/17 at 6:30 PM and you can register HERE. Community members can attend these to also learn about the local impacts of the redesign, ask questions, and provide feedback. By attending, attendees will also be entered into a raffle for a chance to win prizes such as gift cards and tickets to sporting events.

This project wouldn’t be possible without your input! Keep the project moving and come share what you think of the new proposal at any of these events! For more information, or to sign up for other virtual events, visit SEPTABusRevolution.org. Visit the ‘Get Involved’ section of the website and scroll down to find graphics and content to help us spread the word!

We hope to see you there and please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Best,

Lily
