  1. I would love to see more green spaces in the community. Having more parks in neighborhoods without open space or large yards would benefit the whole community. I would love to see a plan to plant more trees on streets that have lost trees over the years. Some areas are devoid of trees and it greatly affects the neighborhoods. It would also be great to work on creating bike paths in the community where families could bike safely. I know there are some plans in the works but creating paths and connecting bike trails would be wonderful!

  2. Love the green space idea as well Jean
Also so tax incentives for businesses and non profits to rehab in the area.

  3. We should have a series of festivals in the summer celebrating the diversity of our community. June could be “Celebrate Africa!” July could be “Celebrate Asia!” And August could be “Celebrate South & Central America!” I would love to see these communities highlighted and promoted with a street fectivla featuring music, food, crafts, and items for sale. It should be close to the 69th St Terminal so people from the city and surrounding areas could get to it but some of the streets should be closed off for the festival. We also need more arts and interesting shops in Upper Darby.

  4. all above ideas sound great and we are also missing a supermarket and a laundromat ! thanks for your consideration 🙂

  5. I’ve lived here for 6 years and have often wondered what’s available for the LGBT community? You speak of cultural diversity and yet I have to go all the way to Center City to among my culture. What is being done in Upper Darby for it’s LGBT residents?

  6. First and foremost something needs to be done with the streets adjacent to the 69th street terminal to relieve congestion and make them more pedestrian friendly (an express tunnel which connects Market to Route 3). Security cameras and patrols as well as better lighting to make the 69th street corridor more appealing. There should be more of an effort to attract Philadelphia businesses with more office and residential space adjacent to the terminal. There is no place around the city that offers the speed and ease in accessing center city. Why this has not been promoted is ridiculous. Also, the township needs to start holding the citizens responsible for property condition and for taxing properties which accommodate criminals.
